No. The analysis runs in your browser, on your device, and the studio does not upload your images. You can turn off your connection entirely and it still works.
That depends on your brushwork, but the map is measured. After analysis you are told the mean colour difference between the flattened shades and the original, and the share of the picture within a just-noticeable difference. Results depend on the image and settings; there is no guaranteed accuracy or painting outcome.
It answers what colour, where, and how much of it. Blending, edges, texture, brushwork and interpretation are yours — the map is a structured starting point, not a paint-by-numbers sheet, and it deliberately leaves the transitions to you.
Five shades are a useful starting point for a simple value study. Fewer gives bolder, poster-like simplification; more gives a closer match but more mixing. You can merge shades afterwards without re-analysing, so it costs nothing to start high.
They are computed from the tubes you tick, and you can correct any swatch that does not match your actual tube or add brands that are not in the library. Recipes are estimates: pigments, lighting, surface and paint thickness affect the result. Test a small mixture before painting.
A current browser — Chrome, Edge, Firefox or Safari 16.4 and later. It installs as an app on Android, iPad and desktop, and works without a connection once installed. Large references are limited only by your device.
Any time, from the billing portal, and you keep access until the period you have paid for ends. Files you have already exported are yours regardless.
You retain your artwork rights, including selling your paintings. You must have permission to use your reference images. A subscription does not grant rights to someone else’s photographs.
